This book had me at Kurt Cobain! Today April 5th of 2014 marks 20 years since Kurt left us and I still miss him as much as the day I heard the awful news about his passing. I was instantly intrigued when I read about the format in which this book was written, I have read books before in which the main characters addresses another via written form, but this is completely new to me. Love Letters to the Dead was written in its entirety in letters to different celebrities that have passed away.
The book opens with “Dear Kurt Cobain”, and my heart skipped a beat, in my bones I felt this book would be special. Laurel is dealing with more than one tragic event in her life though not all…

The film follows “the final days of Jay Douglas, famous American rock star, in a turbulent, but exhilarating early 1970′s Paris. Inspired by the last days of rock and pop culture icon Jim Morrison, the film is not in any way a traditional biopic, but a lyrical study of a brilliant, complex, and troubled soul. Tragic and comedic, at the film’s core are Jay’s broken, but passionate relationships with the two women in his life — Clemence, a glamorous Countess, and his professed “soul-mate,” Valerie Eason, an earthy red-haired beauty from golden California.”
“The Last Beat” stars Shawn Andrews (Dazed and Confused) as Jay Douglas, Cameron Richardson(Shameless, Harper’s Island) as Valerie, with Martha Higareda (Street Kings), Kevin Corrigan (Pineapple Express, The Mentalist), Seymour Cassel (Heist), Courtney Halverson (Godspeed, Death Valley), Leah Cevoli (Deadwood, Robot Chicken) and Helenna Santos (American Reunion, BlackBoxTv).
It looks like a cool project, and its in-progress IndieGoGo campaign is going very well. The Last Beat is currently sitting at $32,875 of its $100,000 goal, and it still has 14 days to get there. There are (as always) some fantastic rewards up for grabs, including shootouts, production diaries, copies of the completed film, limited edition shirts, and even extra roles in the film (and more).

It’s hip, it’s pretty and it’s budget friendly.
Terrarium is a container that holds specific kinds of plants and is great for indoor gardening. You can put it in the corner of your working desk, next to your bed or on the dining table. It’s very easy to maintain as well. I wanted to get one for myself, but getting a terrarium in a plant store is pretty expensive. So I was like, why not make it myself.
Here are the supplies you will need:
1. Rocks
2. Charcoal
3. Succulent Soil
4. Decorative Rocks (Optional)
5. Succulents
6. Unused Jar
Now let’s get into it.
1. First of all, the base (which consist of rocks, charcoals and soil) of your terrarium should be a third of the jar you’re using. You want to fill the first layer of the jar with rocks. Since a terrarium has no drainage, rocks are…

Pamela wearing the dress in 1967 and The Beard Premiere in 1967.
A lot of people have been trying to get the look. Even on the set of a Hollywood Movie, like Factory Girl Starring Sienna Miller.
Blogger Musings and Inspirations did a great job doing her version of Pam’s dress that night. Pam wore that dress more then once. The Beard premiere and at The Coconut Grove dinner with Jim.
Sienna Miller on the set of Factory Girl. Looks like the same exact dress except for the material type and color. Designer unknown.

Ready, set, draw! Nastygal’s newest lookbook collection, Desert Me is setting fashion off with a bang. The western inspired collection incorporates suede, fringe, boho elements and vintage designer pieces from Roberto Cavalli, Moschino and DKNY. As a girl who loves black, structured, modern and sleek styles, I wouldn’t naturally gravitate towards this western look. However, the lookbook photo shoot featuring model, Yumi Lambert completely sparked my eyes. Especially the Vintage Roberto Cavalli Reef Raff Leather Pants Yumi wore in the first photo. Check out Yumi’s shoot and shop my favorite pieces from the collection!

I know I haven’t been updating as much as before. I had some stuff I had to deal with in my personal life, so it left me little time to update. I promise I will try to do as best as I can when it comes to updating this page. In the meantime, I tweaked the pages look a little and hope you all like it . I have to get back in the saddle and see if there’s anything new in the Pam or Jim Morrison world so I can start updating regularly again. Be back soon. My love to you all.
The December 1968, Hullabaloo magazine issue, features an article on the Doors, as well as a photo showing Jim, Dorothy and Pam. Pamela is not credited in the photo or article.

Pearl Courson died July 11 at age 90. Courson was the mother of Pam Courson who was the “Cosmic Mate” and common-law wife of Doors lead singer Jim Morrison.
Pearl Courson was born in Chicago in 1923, she met Columbus ‘Corky’ Courson who was an officer in the Navy during which time they traveled the world before settling in Weed, California and raised daughters Judith and Pamela. Pearl also known as ‘Penny’ had an artistic flair, she was a ‘connoisseur of the arts’ and worked as an interior designer. Her daughter Pam, who later opened the Los Angeles boutique Themis may have inherited her mother’s artistic streak.
Pam Courson met Jim Morrison in Los Angeles while The Doors were still a small band playing dive bars on the Sunset Strip. Though Courson’s and Morrison’s relationship was tumultuous, both had other intimate affairs and experimented freely with drugs. Courson’s and Morrison’s relationship weathered his fame as a rock ‘n’ roll star and they remained together until Morrison’s death in Paris in July 1971. Morrison left his entire estate to Courson, when Pam died in 1974 the estate went to Courson’s parents.
After a brief legal battle with Morrison’s parents over the estate the Courson’s retained the rights to Jim Morrison’s poetry and they worked with The Doors, Jim Morrison’s producer of choice for his poetry album John Haeny, and Frank Lisciandro to produce the 1978 album of Morrison’s poetry “An American Prayer.” In the late 80’s the Courson’s again worked with Lisciandro to release two books of Morrion’s poetry “Wilderness” and “The American Night.”
In later years the Coursons became staunch defenders of their daughter’s memory. One of conditions for the use of Jim Morrison’s poetry in Oliver Stone’s “The Doors” was that the movie project Pamela’s character in a positive manner. In more recent years though they have refused requests to release any more of Morrison’s writing. Those close to them were unsure as to why.
Columbus Courson died in 2008 at age 90. Pearl will buried next to her husband of 64 years. She is survived by her daughter Judith Courson Burton, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held August 16th in Santa Barbara. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Jim Morrison Film Award at UCLA, or the Santa Barbara Hospice which helped Courson in her final years.
